Hello Everyone,
Here I am sitting at work thinking about how lucky for most of us are. Having a job, a home, a family and our freedom to do what we wish to do in our own lives. But so many others don't have this as they are either struggling to stay a float, are homeless due to losing their job, divorced to addictions that have taken over their lives and then there are many more living in other countries that can't even walk around with freewill as a Christian. So today take this Prayer challenge, Pray for those whom you don't know for their safety, finding work, finding a home to rebuild their family relationship. So will you take this challenge?

Hello Everyone,
What a week I have been having and what a weekend I just had. Last weekend I had breakfast with an old friend of mine who was a mentor and a big brother to me. We talked and shared what has been going on with our lives and share our stories. It was so great to be able to touch base and when we were living the restaurant, I heard a voice saying “I know that bread anywhere” and it turns out it was the Pastor that married My wife & I and was my first Pastor when I started going to church at a young age. So it was a great day catching up with people from my past. The next day, I went to check out a new church that I found and after doing some research, I thought it will be good to check it out and plus I was thinking I was glad to find an evangelical church. Well, I knew it was going to be a small church and I wasn’t wrong but I don’t want to be negative about the church as for the service as I was hoping it would be different but I sat back and paid attention to the people in the seats and seeing are they taking in what is going on with the service or are they looking bored. Sure, it wasn’t a typical evangelical service but after the Pastor spoke his sermon, I was shocked. This Pastor was talking about 1 Thessalonians 2:13-16 and the one thing I was so pleased about is how this Pastor talked about the writer of this book (Paul) and the background why it was written to this church and what was happening at that time and then the Pastor got into the word and taught the message very well. Sure, I can say that he was jumpy between using other verses to understand more of scripture but watching the people engaged with the teaching and many where taking notes and some looked like they couldn’t keep up with their note taking. After the service I was able to meet the pastor and we had a great meet & greet and I was approached by another member of the church and after talking with this member, it was a shock to hear that they heard the same sermon I heard years ago in 2005 which change our lives forever, Hell’s Best Kept Secret by Ray Comfort. So, if you are thinking about looking for a new church and my advice is this, at first experience at a new church can make you think about not going back again cause you might not like how the service was done but I will say, give it another chance or two but go in with open mind and you might be surprised that you might enjoy the service after all but if you are not, maybe it’s not the church for you and then you need to pray for God to lead you to the church that will help guide & teach you his word. I am not ashamed of the Gospel because it is the power of God for the Salvation of everyone who believes. Romans 1:16 God Bless, Pastor Shad Twitter @PastorShad |
